Bike Rental 2024 - a season of growth and new experiences

Blog, new cargo bikes and day tourists

season has been nothing short of fantastic for our bike rental service, and we are proud to share some exciting news about the year that has passed. First and foremost, we’ve seen a 125% increase in the number of rentals compared to last year! This really highlights that more and more people are discovering the joy of experiencing Odsherred and its surroundings by bike.

Our blog has also helped us reach even further than just Odsherred. We’ve received several fun and exciting requests for bike deliveries from far away – even outside our usual radius! Unfortunately, we had to decline these requests, as we’ve chosen to focus on providing the best service locally. We want to ensure that the bikes are always in top condition and are delivered quickly and flexibly to our local customers and tourists.

This extended reach has led to larger bookings than ever before, including a group of 50 Germans and 45 bikes for an event in Veddinge. Additionally, we had a large booking for a group of 25 people who turned their entire stay into a “bike birthday” celebration. It’s the first time we’ve seen so many large bookings, and it has been a true pleasure to help so many people have an amazing cycling experience.

Our bike delivery and pickup service has also been incredibly popular this year. Many of our tourists appreciate that we can bring the bikes directly to their summer house or holiday destination, allowing them to head out on their adventures without any hassle. This service has made it even easier for guests to explore our beautiful area.

Another defining feature of 2024 has been the number of customers who only come to cycle for a single day. More and more people have traveled all the way from Copenhagen, North Zealand, or the Holbæk area to spend an active day cycling in our lovely region. They explore everything from quiet forest trails to beautiful coastal stretches and love getting tips on the best viewpoints and hidden gems in nature. Many of them have highlighted our area as a place with diverse nature, tranquility, and plenty of experiences. Many first-time visitors have returned later in the season to experience even more of Odsherred, and it’s wonderful to see that our region inspires so many return adventures.

We also had exciting news to share: This year, we expanded our fleet with new bikes! We’ve purchased a Winther Kangaroo electric cargo bike, a Nicola electric cargo bike, a Bergamont electric cargo bike, and several mountain bikes. These new additions give our customers even more options to explore Odsherred in style and comfort. And as if that wasn’t enough, we are now considering expanding our rental offerings with gravel bikes next year. We’re looking forward to hearing what our customers think of this option!
