In the store Kastanielys at Sjællands Odde, you can truly experience a living tradition in candle making. Here, you gain insight into the craftsmanship process where candles are produced using old methods. The wicks are repeatedly dipped to achieve the desired size and shape. Subsequently, the candles are carefully colored, processed, and decorated to match both the assortment, customer preferences, and the season's ambiance.
A special experience for children is to color their own candles in the store, where they can choose their favorite colors from among the color pots.
In addition to candle making, there's also a POP UP café named "madkassen" on the lawn in front of the store during Easter days. Here, you can enjoy homemade treats from "madkassen," along with coffee, cocoa, and delicious home-baked pancakes.
Their selection of lifestyle suppliers includes recognized brands such as NORDAL, Ib Laursen, SIRIUS, Badeanstalten, Willow Tree, Cream, Kids By Friis, Sandra Rich, Det Gamle Apotek, and many other exciting suppliers.
They offer everything from furniture, kitchen accessories, metal signs, jewelry, napkins, utility items, handicrafts, ceramics, posters, tableware, glass art, table runners, LED lights, candlesticks, and many other delightful products.
They often receive special requests from customers for their homes or summer houses, and they go out of their way to fulfill these wishes by sourcing the right items upon request.
